Start with fresh coffee beans. Grind them just before brewing for maximum freshness.
Measure 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 6 ounces of water, adjusting to taste.
Boil water using a kettle and let it cool for a minute, reaching about 200°F (93°C).
Pre-wet your filter in the filter basket to eliminate any paper taste.
Add coffee grounds to the filter or French press.
Pour hot water over the grounds in a circular motion, ensuring all grounds are saturated. For a French press, add the lid without pressing down yet.
Start your timer and let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds. This allows gases to escape.
After blooming, continue to pour water over the coffee in a circular motion.
For a drip coffee maker, let the brewing process complete. For a French press, steep for 4 minutes.
Once brewing or steeping is done, serve your perfect coffee in your favourite mug.
