  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brewed coffee

  • 1/4 tsp Ginger ground
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper ground
  • 1 tbsp Honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • A pinch of ground Nutmeg optional
  • A pinch of ground Cardamom optional

Instructions

  • Brew the Coffee
  • Start by brewing a cup of your favorite coffee using a coffee maker or French press.
  • Warm the Milk
  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk over low to medium heat until it's hot but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
  • Blend the Spices
  • In a separate bowl, combine the ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground black pepper, and any optional spices you prefer (nutmeg, cardamom).
  • Create the Turmeric Paste
  • Add a splash of hot milk to the spice mixture and whisk until it forms a smooth paste. This step helps to evenly distribute the spices in the coffee.
  • Mix the Turmeric Paste
  • Pour the brewed coffee into your mug.
  • Stir in the turmeric paste until well combined
  • Sweeten and Froth
  • Add honey or maple syrup to sweeten your coffee, adjusting to taste.
  • Froth the hot milk until it's creamy and pourable. You can use a frother or a whisk for this step.
  • Combine and Serve
  • Pour the frothed milk into the coffee, gently stirring to combine.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon or turmeric on top for garnish
  •  Enjoy
  • Sip and savour your golden turmeric coffee, revelling in its comforting and aromatic flavours.

Notes

  • Turmeric can stain, so be cautious when handling it and avoid spilling on clothing or countertops.
  • You can adjust the level of sweetness to your liking by adding more or less honey or maple syrup.
  • Experiment with different milk options such as almond, coconut, or oat milk to find your preferred taste and texture.
